Today, Shrimant Dagdusheth Halwai Temple is not only one of the most highly revered places of worship in India but an institution that is actively engaged in social welfare and cultural development through Shrimant Dagdusheth Halwai Sarvajanik Ganpati Trust. The temple speaks of a long and glorious history. The deity of Lord Ganesha was incepted by Shri Dagdusheth Halwai and his wife Lakshmibai way back, when they lost their only son to the plague epidemic. Every year, the Ganpati festival was celebrated with deep faith and enthusiasm, not only by Dagdusheth’s family but the entire neighborhood.

'A' Grade Tourism Destination Status
The State Government's major decision to grant 'A' Grade tourism destination status to the Shreemant Dagdusheth Halwai Ganpati Trust!
Government Resolution :- As per the Government Resolution, Tourism and Cultural Affairs Department, No. TDS 2015/12/Pr.No.1065/Tourism, dated February 22, 2016, and Corrigendum dated March 8, 2016, following the prescribed criteria and procedures for declaring "A" grade tourist destinations in the state, Shreemant Dagdusheth Halwai Ganpati, Pune, is being granted the status of an "A" grade tourist destination.
